From Winner to Sponsor: Silas & Co Farms Powers the Next Generation of Women in Agri
A year after winning the inaugural Women in Agri Accelerator, Silas & Co Farms returns to the program as a sponsor, investing in the next generation of female agripreneurs.
A year ago, our founder, Morato Malatji, stood on the AgriVuno stage as the winner of the inaugural Women in Agri Accelerator Programme 2024. It was a milestone celebrating her dedication and affirming our farm’s core values of sustainability, transparency, and ethical farming.
Today, Silas & Co Farms returns to the AgriVuno community as a sponsor of the 2025 Women in Agri Accelerator Programme: Cohort 2. Morato reflects:
“It’s a full-circle moment. To go from being a beneficiary to becoming a sponsor feels deeply meaningful. It’s proof that when women are empowered, they multiply that empowerment. Supporting Cohort 2 is my way of saying thank you and of investing in the next generation of women who are bold enough to dream in agri.”
AgriVuno adds:
“Silas & Co Farms represents what happens when women in agriculture rise — and reach back to uplift others. Their journey from pitch winners to sponsors embodies legacy, leadership, and impact.”
A Victory That Fueled Growth
Winning the 2024 accelerator was a turning point for Silas & Co Farms. The R20,000 cash prize, accredited farm management course, and mentorship propelled expansion plans forward, including:
- Establishing a farm butchery
- Expanding the Bushveld Heat artisanal chili range
Paying It Forward: Sponsoring Cohort 2
Our sponsorship is a commitment to empowering women in agriculture. We know firsthand the impact of mentorship, training, and recognition. By investing in Cohort 2, we aim to continue building a network of women supporting women across South Africa.
A Commitment to a Sustainable Future
At Silas & Co Farms, we are cultivating a lasting family legacy rooted in integrity, community, and care for the land. Partnering with AgriVuno allows us to strengthen the sector, ensuring ethical farming practices and sustainable growth continue for the next generation.
